Light Interactions with Tissue Using the ASAP RSM (Demo Movie)
Modeling light interactions in tissue using the ASAP Realistic Skin Model, RSM, which is part of the optional BIO Toolkit. Skin is the one of the most accessible organs of the human body, and as such is one of the easiest to examine in terms of light-tissue interaction. That interaction, however, can be incredibly complex depending upon physiological conditions that can have profound effects on the optics of the skin, such as anemia, jaundice, or dehydration. By modeling each light-absorbing molecule separately in the RSM, a powerful and flexible skin modeling method is produced.
