Abstract
This technical publication describes the feature, ASAP REMOTE, in the Advanced Systems Analysis Program (ASAP®) from Breault Research Organization (BRO). Significant improvements are introduced in ASAP 2009 V1R1.
ASAP REMOTE™ gives you the ability to initialize, monitor, and retrieve data from remote sessions on the same domain local area network (LAN), as well as the flexibility to control the configuration of remote sessions on available cores, processors, and computers. You can start jobs on all cores of your local computer and on all network computers and their cores. You can then monitor progress, view and compare results, and transfer relevant data to your desktop. Moreover, you can run tolerancing studies and evaluate multiple system designs simultaneously.
All editions of ASAP come with 5 REMOTE session licenses that can be used in concert with two local ASAP sessions. As of ASAP 2009, additional increments of 1, 5, 25, 50, and 100 session licenses are available. Access to domain LAN computers depends on an established protocol, which includes the client (local) user receiving permission from remote ASAP users to access their computers as servers. The client copies files from the local computer to the remote computer, and collects data computed on the remote computer. Files reside on remote computers for the duration of the session. Files can be copied to and from the local computer.
Summary of changes
This revision reflects a change in the user interface in ASAP 2009 V2R1. The General tab of ASAP Preferences no longer includes "$PATH". (7/9/09)
