Breault Research Organization Announces New CEO Kathleen Perkins
TUCSON, Ariz., March 31 — Robert Breault, President and Founder of Breault Research Organization (BRO), announced today that Kathleen Perkins will step into BRO's CEO position effective immediately. BRO, an internationally respected optical design software developer and provider of engineering and manufacturing services, is considered to be one of the leaders of Tucson's world-famous "Optics Valley."
Perkins, who moves from VP of Sales and Marketing at the company, was praised by Dr. Breault for her intellect and for her understanding of optical technologies and markets. "Since Ms. Perkins joined us in 1995, she has guided the rapid growth of our high-tech company. I'm confident her business, technical and people skills will continue the company's growth well into the 21st Century," said Dr. Breault.
Perkins said, "It's impressive to me what Bob Breault has built up over the years. It's an honor to drive his work forward from the CEO vantage. Breault is one of the world's select few companies that offer optics services and products that range from leading science to custom development. The intellectual property portfolio that has been developed by Breault's scientists will be the foundation underlying a host of new technologies and products."
"Optics is entering its Golden Time," continued Perkins. "It's a very rewarding time in history to be professionally engaged in this sector. Optics has become a cornerstone technology that enables most modern electronics."
"Customer obsession" is Perkins' charted mission. She explained, "Extreme and sincere care of our customers is where I intend to focus my efforts and Breault's continued evolution."
Perkins' devotion to the optics industry is well known. She serves on the Arizona Optics Industry Board and was instrumental in conferring the "Optics Valley" title on the Tucson cluster. Eugene Arthurs, Ph.D., Executive Director of the International Society for Optical Engineering, recently lauded Perkins. Arthurs wrote, "Hers is a rare gift. One of the most significant obstacles in making technology advances is the disciplinary barrier. Kathleen Perkins broaches the disciplinary barriers."
